For my last trip out of the country trip of the semester, my roommates and I decided to go to the island of Malta. Malta is located between Sicily and Africa. Malta has a very interesting history from the Knights of Malta, to being colonized by the British to then becoming its own country Malta has a very deep history. Something that many people don’t know about Malta is that Malta had the highest bombing per kilometer out of any country in WWII.
My friends and I wanted to go check out the island and the islands surrounding Malta. We ended up doing a boat tour for only 30 euros and it was 7 hours. Normally I’m not the biggest fan of long tours but this one was super enjoyable especially since you don’t get Sea Sick. When we got on the boat the captain said there might be some choppy water going out and he was not wrong. Although it was a beautiful day it was very windy and our boat was hitting some choppy waters, luckily neither I nor my friends got seasick but about half the boat either threw up or had their down. I kinda enjoyed the choppy waters because it kinda made me think of the show Deadliest Catch. Once we got past the choppy waters the boat docked in a bay and set up the water slide and diving board which were attached to the boat. It was honestly flattering seeing how blue the water was but it was also pretty cold since it was only 65 degrees outside, but that didn’t stop my friends and I from having a good time. Later on in the day we docked at the Island of Kemmuna, A fun fact about this island is that it only has a population of 2. The island had some food vendor trucks and jet ski/boat rentals. My roommate Oscar and I knew we had to do the Jet ski rental because it was only 25 euros if we split it. Although the water was a little choppy and it was a little windy when we were riding with the current we felt like Poseidon or Percy Jackson, it was honestly one of the funniest experiences of my life.
